Yesterday at church we celebrated Advent Sunday marking the beginning of Advent season. A season of expectation and preparation for both Jesus's birth at Christmas and his second coming.
We lit the first of four Advent candles representing hope- the others representing. Love. Joy and peace and the 4 weeks of the Advent season and the virtues that Jesus delivers to the world and to our lives.
God of Hope
Your son, Jesus, is your greatest gift to us.
He is a sign of your love and a symbol of hope.
Help us walk in that love during the weeks of Advent and look towards the hope Jesus brings this Christmas season.
As we wait and prepare for his coming.
We pray in the name of Jesus, our Savior.Amen
Still Point returns on Tuesday 2nd of December at 6.30pm
A chance to spend time with God by singing, reading the Bible and in prayer.

Buy Nothing Day takes place on Friday November 28th, it's a 24 hour detox from consumerism and an opportunity for you to tune into the impact we have on the environment through shopping.

John 6:35
I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
John 6:51
Thank you to everyone who helped facilitate and organise this years Bread Festival and thank you, everyone, for coming along and participating in our Bread Festival yesterday. It was such a joy to see everyone having a go at all the crafts, hands-on bread, and scone making workshops and other activities.
Thanks to everyone who baked cakes and other delicious treats for a cake sale, raising money for Hackney Food Bank and too all those who provided soup and bread for our Bread Festival banquet.
Thank you, @funpalaces, for including us in this year's program of events happening around Hoxton
We ended the day watching Agnés Varda's beautiful and thoughtful documentary The Gleaners and I. A film inspired by Jean-Francois Millet's 1867 painting "The Gleaners", which inspired Varda to go on a road trip around France and explore the history of gleaning and how it continues in modern day, through scavenging or saving food and other items from going to waste once the harvest is over or perhaps the markets have finished for the day.
