services

sunday

Our weekly service seeks to combine the best of contemporary and historical content. Don't be surprised to hear a 4th century prayer followed by a modern arrangement of an african-american spiritual. The communication style from the front, we hope, is unstuffy and relaxed without sacrificing weight and seriousness.

what, where, when?

grace church hackney meets at St Leonard's Church Shoreditch, (See map and directions page).

Doors open at 5pm and the service proper begins at 5.45pm each Sunday, lasting a little over an hour. There is communal singing, music, readings and prayers. A slot is given to presenting a bible passage. At the end, after a brief coffee break, there is a chance to quiz the speaker, discuss issues raised and critique the talk. These conversations are often carried over to local cafes, bars and restaurants.

children

We run activities (including crèche) for children and teenagers during and after the service. All our childrens' activities are run in accordance with the recommendations of the Child Protection Act.
